The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Signals and Systems & its Applications” by K.V.Swamy, Gate Faculty, Time Private Limited, Hyderabad on 3rd November2016 at ECE seminar hall between 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM for the benefit of second year students.

Mr.Swamy introduced basic fundamentals of signals and systems, its operational concepts and their applications in digital image and signal processing. The lecture also given introduction of frequency response analysis and its relation and usage to LTI systems, basics of Fourier series and Fourier transforms, its applications and usage to signals and systems in digital communication, mobile communication, digital signal and image processing applications.

The lecture described significance of convolution and correlation concepts that are used to solve problems in digital signal & image processing applications. The lecture also discussed impulse response, frequency response, use of eigen values in LTI systems. Around 180 students of second year B.Tech of ECE has attended and interacted with the guest. A good feedback has been given by the students. This lecture is conducted under TEQIP-II-S.C-1.1 & IETE Student chapter.

The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Digital Image Processing and Its Applications” by Dr.T.Satya Savithri, Professor, JNTUH, Hyderabad on 7th October 2016 at ECE seminar hall between 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM for the benefit of final year students.

Dr.T.Satya Savithri emphasized on importance of basic fundamental steps in digital image processing, components of an image processing system, a simple image formation model, image sampling and quantization, relationships between pixels, imaging Geometry, image enhancement in the spatial domain, gray level transformations, and histogram processing, smoothing and sharpening spatial filters.

The lecture given a lot of significance to image restoration process, restoration in the presence of noise only-spatial filtering, periodic noise reduction by frequency domain filtering and minimum mean square error filtering. The lecture also discussed about few applications of image processing such as finger printing, face recognition, segmentation in medical applications and compression techniques. Around 100 students of final year B.Tech of ECE has attended and interacted with the guest. A good feedback has been given by the students.

The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Control Systems” by Sandeep Bhandari, DGM, Academics, Time Private Limited, Hyderabad on 28th October 2016 at ECE seminar hall between 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM for the benefit of third year students.

Mr.Sandeep introduced basic fundamentals of control system, its operational concepts and their applications in real time such as traffic control system, temperature and fan control system etc.The lecture also given introduction of frequency response analysis and its relation and usage to control system, basics of Bode plot, its applications and usage to open loop control systems.

The lecture described significance of polar plot, its description and plotting on a polar sheet. The lecture also discussed extended version of polar plot such as Nyquist plot, it’s relation to type and order of a system and representation on S-plane. Around 180 students of third year B.Tech of ECE has attended and interacted with the guest. A good feedback has been given by the students.

The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Overview of Pulse and Digital Circuits” by Dr.M.Ch.Chinnaaia, Professor in ECE Department, BVRIT, Hyderabad on 18th April 2016 at ECE seminar hall between 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM for the benefit of second year students.

Dr.M.Ch.Chinnaaia emphasized on importance of basic concepts in pulse and digital circuits like high pass, low pass filters, clippers and multivibrators. The lecture also explained about the positive, negative clippers, shunt and series clippers and their applications with authenticated explanations and real time examples.

The lecture given a lot of significance to switching concepts of transistor due to its immense importance in linear and non linear wave shaping circuits. The lecture discussed about bistable, astable and monostable vibrators and triggering techniques such symmetrical and asymmetrical triggering in pulse shaping circuits. Around 100 students of second year B.Tech of ECE has attended and interacted with the guest. A good feedback has been given by the students and this program is conducted under TEQIP-II-S.C-1.1 & IETE Student Chapter.

The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Filter Design Concepts in Signal Processing” by M.V.Kiran Kumar, Asst.Professor in ECE Department, CBIT, Hyderabad on 18th March 2016 at ECE seminar hall between 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM for the benefit of third year students.

Mr.Kiran Kumar emphasized on importance of filter design concepts in signal processing such as applications of Z-transforms, solution of difference equations of digital filters. The lecture also explained about system function, stability criterion, frequency response of stable systems and their applications with authenticated explanations and real time examples.

The lecture also explained the realization of digital filters using direct, canonic, cascade and parallel forms. The lecture discussed about butterworth and chebyshev design of IIR digital filters from analog filters, characteristics and frequency response design of FIR filters using window techniques and frequency sampling techniques and comparison of IIR & FIR filter characteristics. Around 100 students of third year B.Tech of ECE has attended and interacted with the guest. The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Programming Concepts Using Embedded C” by Mr.Ch.Madhu Babu, Professor, BVRIT, Hyderabad on 29th December 2015 at ECE seminar hall between 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM for the benefit of third year students

Mr.Madhu Babu emphasized on importance of basic concepts in C language like data types, arrays, functions, pointers, structures and unions. The lecture also discussed about the pointers to arrays, pointers to functions, structure pointers and it’s usage in embedded applications with authenticated explanations and real time examples

The lecture given a lot of significance to pointer concepts due to its immense importance in embedded system programming. The lecture discussed about array of pointers, array of structure pointers, bitwise operations, and memory and database management using pointers for effective implementation of embedded systems. The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Industry Awareness Program & Carrier Opportunities in Electronics and Communication Engineering field” by Mr. Chakradhar Chegu, Director, Engineering Head, Aricent Technologies Private Limited, Hyderabad on 14th July 2015 at ECE seminar hall between 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for the benefit of final year students.

The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Analysis of Feedback Amplifiers” by Mr.M.Harikrishna, Professor,IIIT, Hyderabad on 9th December 2015 at Mini Auditorium between 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM for the benefit of third year students.

Mr.Harikrishna emphasized on importance of basic concepts, skills & knowledge required in electronic devices and circuits, network theory, operational amplifiers and logic design subjects to effectively analyze and design feedback amplifiers. The lecture also discussed about the possibilities and reach abilities of research and development in ECE field, opportunities in core technical area and IIT level interview questions with authenticated explanations.

The lecture has also provided information on ac and dc analysis of amplifiers, the importance of circuit stability for consistent performance of electron devices and also concepts of biasing, Thevinin’n resistance, and tank circuit and load conditions to achieve effective design of electronic circuits in different day to day domains and applications. The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on “Overview of Electro Magnetic Waves and Transmission Lines” by Dr. K. Jaya Sankar , Prof. & Head, Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad on 20th January 2015 between 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM for the benefit of Second year students.

Dr. K. Jaya Sankar emphasized on overview of Electro Magnetic Waves including vector Algebra. He discussed about basics of Electrostatics, Magneto statics, Electro Magnetic Waves and the propagation of Electro Magnetic Waves in the space. He explained the importance of basic laws in Electro Magnetic Waves like Gauss’s law, Ampere Circuit’s law Faraday’s law and Maxwell’s equations in real time applications.

He explained the importance of Electro Magnetic Waves in different engineering fields like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science and in Biomedical. The lecture has also provided information on Transmission Lines and its applications. Around 180 students of Second year ECE has attended and interacted with the guest. Mr. Bramhanandam emphasized on personality development by giving examples from Puranas like Mahabharata, Ramayana and Vedas and comparing them to the present scenario. The Department of ECE has organized a guest lecture on "Overview of VLSI Physical Design" by Mr. D.Srikanth, Sr.Manager (Technical), AMD, Hyderabad on 22nd August 2014 at ECE seminar hall between 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM for the benefit of final year students.

Mr.Srikanth emphasized on overview of VLSI design flow including from the design specifications to fabrication of chip and bought it into market. He discussed about design specifications like block diagram of main and individual modules, no.of.inputs and outputs of all module, speed, power dissipation, package types and cost. The lecture also discussed about simulation process like logical verification of modules, sub modules in terms of truth tables and wave forms to check functionality.

The lecture has also provided information on system partitioning, floor planning such as estimation of required chip area that will be used for standard cells and determine shapes of sizes of each sub module to get high performance. The lecture also focused on placement of each module, routing and testing techniques such as design & electrical rule check, short circuit & antenna test and troubleshooting of various faults on IC’s.
