A Guest Lecture on POWER SYSTEM SECURITY by Mrs.N Srilatha

The Department of EEE has organized a guest Lecture on “Power system Security” on 20th December 2016 for the benefit of PG students. The resource person isMrs.N.Srilatha, Assistant Professor from University College of engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad.

The main focus of the Seminar is on current and upcoming techniques in power system security. In the seminar the speaker had delivered her talk on power system operating states, Major components of security assessment, Contingency analysis, Preventive and corrective actions on power system security problems.

Faculty members from the department of EEE along with PG students have actively participated in this seminar. This programme is coordinated by Mrs.V.SumaDeepthi. Feedback from the participants is “Excellent”.

The Department of EEE has organized a guest Lecture on “Power system reliability” on 31th January 2014 for the benefit of third year students. The resource person is Dr G.N.Srinivas, Professor from JNTUH, Hyderabad.

The main focus of the Seminar is on current and upcoming techniques in power systems. In the seminar the speaker had delivered his talk on reliability introduction and applications to power systems.

Faculty members from the departments of EEE along with III B.Tech students have actively participated in this seminar. This programme is coordinated by Mr.P.Kamalakar and Mr.D.Ramesh Feedback from the participants is “Excellent”.


A Guest Lecture on SERIES COMPENSATION OF TRANSMISSION LINE PROTECTIVE SCHEME by Dr.B.P Singh

The Department of EEE has organized a guest Lecture on “Series compensation of transmission line protection and scheme” on 22nd August 2013 for the benefit of third year students. The resource person is Dr B.P.Singh, Professor from St.Martin’s Engg College, Hyderabad.

The main focus of the Seminar is on current and upcoming techniques in power systems. In the seminar the speaker had delivered his talk on reliability introduction and applications to power systems.

The Department of EEE has organized a guest Lecture on “An Over view of power Electronics and its Applications” on 10th July 2014 for the benefit of third year students. The resource person is Dr K.Siva Kumar, Assistant Professor from IIT, Hyderabad.

The main focus of the Seminar is on current and upcoming techniques in power Electronics for the control of power system equipments. In the seminar the speaker had delivered his talk on applications of power Electronics for Non Renewable energy generation.

The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has organized a guest lecture on "An overview of Power Electronics and its applications" on 10th July, 2014.

Participants & their feedback:

71 students of EEE department have got participated in the guest lecture. The feedback from the participants at the end of the workshop indicates that it has helped the students in updating their knowledge on applications of power electronics.


A REPORT ON GUEST LECTURE ORGANIZED BY EEE DEPARTMENT MREC (A) ON 31ST JANUARY, 2014.

The department of EEE has organized a guest lecture on POWER SYSTEM RELIABLITY on 31st Jan, 2014 at E-class room in EEE Department. Dr.G.N Sreenivas, Professor, EEE Department from JNTUH, Hyderabad has been invited as resource person.

During his lecture, the importance of Electrical power Reliability has been explained by covering various major areas like ,Generation, Transmission, Distribution , end consumer & calculation of probabilities …etc. the guest lecture has mainly focused on new concepts of power systems Reliability methods , and over 110 students benefitted from this lecture. A good feedback also given by the students and expressed their willingness to select mini projects in this area. The guest lecture coordinated by Mr.Ch.Venkateswarlu, Associate professor, Thankful to support of all EEE teaching and non-teaching members.
