Report On One Day Guest Lecture on “Robotics and Factory Automation” Under TEQIP-II S.C.1.1 On 7th Nov, 2016



A One day Guest Lecture Programme on “Robotics and Factory Automation” Under TEQIP-II S.C-1.1 is held in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Malla Reddy Engineering College (Autonomous), on 7th Nov, 2016. The Guest Lecture is aimed to provide Awareness on basic knowledge, recent trends in the field of “Robotics and Factory Automation.

The Guest lecture is attended by 220 students of B.Tech 3rd year Mechanical Engineering.

The esteemed personalities present on the inauguration of the programme:

  • Dr. S. Sudhakara Reddy, Principal, MREC (A) – President of the function
  • Mr. P. Vishnu Chitham, Project Executive, Involute Systems, Hyd. – Chief Guest.
  • Prof. A.Raveendra HOD, Dept. of ME, MREC (A).
  • Prof. G.Bhiksham. Associate Professor, Dept. of ME, MREC (A).
  • Mr. K. Rajesh, Asst. Professor, Dept. of ME, MREC (A) – Coordinator.

Mr. G. Bhiksham, Associate Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering has Invited the guest and gave introduction about him with his welcome note.

Mr. P. Vishnu Chitham addressed the gathering and gave lecture on “Robotics and Factory Automation”.

Professor A. Raveendra has given his remarks by emphasizing the importance of the program.

The Inauguration ended with vote of thanks by Mr. K. Rajesh.




The session has gone in a good interactive way. The speaker has given the basic knowledge, number of examples and applications in the field of “Robotics and Factory Automation”. He showed the technical videos on automated robots which are performing the task of assembling and painting of an automobile. Explanation was given on the proximity sensor of Robot and its working in the field of foundry.

Students have appreciated and interacted with the speaker in a positive way to clear the doubts from him.


The guest lecture is very much informative. The session has a great benefit for the students and teaching staff as the topic is relevant to the current scenario. Students were enlightened, clarified their doubts and acquired good knowledge about “Robotics and Factory Automation”.
