MIC Programmes & Schemes
As per Ministry of Education (MoE) MIC driven activity under IIC 7.0 quarter-1, Malla Reddy Engineering College, organized “MIC Programmes & Schemes” on 23-10-2024 through online mode. The resource person of this MIC Driven activity is Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman AICTE & Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, New Delhi. He explained about the importance and roles and responsibilities of an Innovation Ambassador at their institution level and nearby institutions. He also discussed about different Programs and Schemes provided by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell such as IIC Calendar activities, Mentor-Mentee Program, KAPILA Scheme for Patent filling and Publishing, Hackathons and many more.
Exposure and Field Visits for Problem Identification: Aligning with UN SDGs and Exploring Emerging Areas of Technologies
The Department of ECE has organized an exposure visit on 23-10-2024 to National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC)- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Hyderabad for Third year B. Tech students in association with Institution’s Innovation Council under IIC 7.0 Quarter-1 activity. 160 students and 6 faculty members have undergone exposure visit at National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Jeedimetla, Hyderabad. NRSC is one of the primary centres of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS). NRSC has the mandate for establishment of ground stations for receiving satellite data, generation of data products, dissemination to the users, and development of techniques for remote sensing applications including disaster management support, geospatial services for good governance and capacity building for professionals, faculty and students. Students learnt overall functioning of the centre. Three videos were shown and a presentation was delivered including more details regarding the venture. Students had a very good exposure on how the rocket was assembled, loaded and launched. Some scientific facts, problems encountered and how they are resolved during launch were also explained in the presentation. A detailed explanation was given and doubts were also clarified. During the exposure visit, students interacted with the scientists and get motivated from them to imagine and think innovatively to find solutions for real time problems. This exposure visit was coordinated by Dr SIMA SAHU and Dr. G.S.K GAYATRI DEVI.

Orientation & Mentoring Session at Chilkuru Balaji College of Pharmacy
Ministry of Education and AICTE establishes Institution’s Innovation Councils (IICs) in HEIs to streamline and strengthen the campus I&E ecosystems. In this regard, since 2021, MoE’s Innovation Cell is addressing this gap through Mentor-Mentee Scheme by providing a peer-mentorship platform for high performing institutions to act as mentor to newly joined and underperforming IIC institutions as mentee Dr. T. Srinivas Reddy, Convenor of Institution’s Innovation Council, explained about roles and responsibilities of IIC members and provided guidance towards IIC portal usage. He also talked about the programs need to conduct during the IIC 6.0. Dr. P. Saritha, Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Cell, discussed about the role of Entrepreneur towards nation build. She also shared successful entrepreneurs success stories. Total 25 faculty members attended this program from the Mentee Institute Chilkuru Balaji College of Pharmacy.
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), IIC and MREC-HUB, in association with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Hyderabad has organized one day online workshop titled “Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability” on 21st September 2023 from 09:30AM to 05:30PM at Malla Reddy Engineering College under IIC 6.0 calendar, Quarter 1 Self Driven activity. The speaker of the event was Shri P. Sudheer Kumar, Consultant (Academic admin.), MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The speaker went on to explain about Social Enterprise as the practice of using market-based, entrepreneurial strategies for the purpose of progressing an organization’s social or environmental impact. The speaker explained the process of using entrepreneurship to combat social problems—provides an even greater value by focusing entrepreneurship skills on alleviating social issues like poverty, inequality, climate change, racial tension, and more. He motivated the students to establish Social Entrepreneurship Cell in the college and organize events like campus bazaar/marts, employment and skill training, microlending platform and Community Engagement activities. The speaker informed the students that Social entrepreneurship education would grant them the tools needed to design, launch, and scale social enterprises. In the interacting session he explained the business models for organizing stalls, procurement of materials, how they need to promote their products and sell them etc. Social entrepreneurship is the future of business. Finally, the speaker concluded the session with, the better we can prepare future leaders to run businesses that not only create value for themselves and their consumers, but that advance quality of life for society as a whole, the more likely they are to succeed.
“Field/Exposure Visit for Problem Identification” on 13-10-2023
The Department of ECE has organized an exposure visit on 13-10-2023 to Astra Microwave Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad for ECE faculty members and students in association with Institution’s Innovation Council under IIC 6.0 Quarter-1 activity. The visit was organized with prior permission and guidance of Dr. A. Ramaswami Reddy, Principal and Dr. M. Jagdeesh Chandra Prasad, HOD ECE. Title: Field/Exposure Visit for Problem Identification Organizer: Department of ECE, in association with Institution’s Innovation Council. Date: 13.10.2023 Participation details: 40 faculty members and 10 students Organisation Name: Astra Microwave Products Ltd., Hyderabad. Objective of the visit: Exposure Visit for Problem Identification. Brief Description about the visit: A total of 40 faculty members and 10 students have undergone exposure visit at Astra Microwave Products Ltd., Hyderabad. Astra Microwave Products Limited (AMPL) was incorporated in 1991. The company has three production units and two R&D units that also include an exclusive space qualified facility. Astra has an array of assembly and test facilities that include 3 Automatic assembly lines for PCBA assembly, Seven Class 10K and one Class 100K clean rooms, functional test infrastructure that extends from 30MHz up to 40GHz, in-house Environmental Test facilities including EMI/EMC facility and a first for any Indian Private Industry – Near Field Antenna Test Range (NFTR). Astra is an ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100D certified Organisation. Starting with a diverse range of microwave products like filters, transmitters, receivers, antennas, etc., the company produced various Flight Modules that were flown on multiple Indian satellites. • Discussed about use of VLSI in ASTRA missile. • Explained about seeker testing in missiles. • Discussed about tools & testing equipment’s in AMPL industry. The participants learned about usage of VLSI technology in Defence applications. They explored how VLSI technology can be used in designing Astra missiles. A detailed explanation was given about how seeker testing is carried out in missiles for performing on-board target sensing for flight guidance. They were also taught about tools and testing facilities and equipments available in AMPL industry. They were taught about how EMI/EMC testing is carried out for the systems and subsystems developed for Defence and Space Applications in an anechoic chamber. During the visit, the participants actively interacted with the engineering team and enhanced their knowledge about using VLSI technology in defence applications. Their doubts were clarified.
Internal Hackathon for SIH 2023 on 16-09-2023
The Internal Hackathon for SIH 2023 at Malla Reddy Engineering College took place on September 16, 2023. This event aimed to foster innovative thinking among students and encourage them to propose solutions to various problem statements provided by the SIH platform. The problem statements covered a wide range of themes, including agriculture, medicine, education, smart technology, and more, allowing students to explore diverse areas of innovation. Over 100 teams enthusiastically participated in the hackathon, with each team presenting their unique and creative ideas. This event provided an excellent platform for students to collaborate, brainstorm, and showcase their problem-solving skills. The SIH (Smart India Hackathon) poster was launched by the Principal of Malla Reddy Engineering College, Dr. A Ramaswami Reddy, along with the respective Heads of Department (HODs). This launch likely took place as part of the inauguration ceremony of the Internal Hackathon for SIH 2023. On September 16th, 2023, Dr. S. Shivaprasad, the Head of the Department (HOD) of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS and AIML), had the honor of inaugurating the event. He warmly welcomed all the students who had gathered to participate in the event and set the tone for the day. During his inaugural address, Dr. Shivaprasad explained the purpose and significance of the event, outlining the process that the participants would follow. Furthermore, he took the opportunity to encourage and motivate the students, emphasizing the importance of their creative and innovative ideas. His words likely inspired the participants to give their best and present their ideas with confidence and enthusiasm. Dr. S. STARTUP OPPORTUNITIES ON AI&DEVOPS" on September 12th to 16th 2023

One day “SUCCESSFUL REAL ESTATE ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SREE)” (09TH NOVEMBER 2023)
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) along with Civil Engineering Department in association with National Academy of construction and RE/MAX, has organized one day workshop titled “Successful Real Estate Entrepreneurship (SREE)”on National Entrepreneurship Day, under IIC 6.0 quarter-1 a celebration activity on 9th November 2023 in the Mini Auditorium, MREC. The speaker of the event was Mr Harinath Reddy, RE/MAX Jubilee, Hyderabad with almost 250 students participating in the event. The speaker emphasized on various opportunities for a Civil Engineer especially Entrepreneurship in Real estate. He talked about his Journey with RE/MAX. RE/MAX provides superior service and pursues excellence in real estate across the globe. It provides an environment that promotes collaboration, communication, innovation and value creation. While they gain efficiency and quality through the use of the latest technologies, their Broker Owners and Broker Associates form the foundation of our success. He stressed on creating value beyond real estate.
One day “ENTRPRENEURSHIP AWARENESS PROGRAMME” (06TH OCTOBER 2023)
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and MREC-HUB, in association with MSME DFO, Hyderabad has organized one day “Entrepreneurship Awareness programme on 06th October 2023 from 09:30AM to 05:30PM in the Mini Auditorium of Malla Reddy Engineering College under IIC 6.0 calendar, Quarter 1 Self Driven activity. The guest of honor for the program was Mr.Vijay Kiran Agatsya, Co-Founder & CEO, NextGen Learning & Consulting Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad. The inaugural function was started with the auspicious lightning of the lamp followed by prayer song. Dr S Udaya Bhaskar, Dean-Academics, MREC presided about the college and programme. The presidential address was given by Shri. K C Choudhury, I.E.D.S., Assistant Director (Grade 1) MSME-DFO, Hyderabad. The first session was by Dr. P Saritha, who started with an introduction about importance of Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation. During this session, the speaker emphasized on the leadership qualities, attitude of students towards innovation and entrepreneurship. She enthusiastically motivated the students to build a strong leadership quality which is an important parameter needed for the success of any startup. It was followed by another session by Dr.T Srinivas Reddy who talked about Digital Transformation in Entrepreneurial Ventures. He high lightened the way how everything is being digitalized after Covid. He presented the digital transformation in various sectors with many live examples. The presentation had an overwhelming response from the students. Later the session was followed by an interaction of students with Shri, Kiran Kumar Teegulla, CEO & Founder, DOCUFUND, where the students have got clarifications about udyam registration, investors and government schemes. Almost 140 students participated in the programme and made it a huge success.

The two-day inter-college project exhibition VISHESH 2022, which was held in magnificent style on October 28th and 29th, 2022, was the biggest technical event ever held at Malla Reddy Engineering College. Day 1's opening ceremony on 28th, began with a welcome dance and was spiritually followed by the lamp-lighting ceremony presided over by the program's chairman, Dr. A. Ramaswamy Reddy, Principal of MREC, chief guest, Shri M. Trinath, Head Technology, KEKA Technologies, and guest of honour, Shri Arya Patnaik, Head of Campus Relations, KEKA Technologies. The audible prayer hymn was added to the occasion by Ms Pramadwara and event hosted by Ms Monogna, Student 2nd year.Dr. A. Ramaswamy Reddy, the program's chairman, spoke to the students about the program's future potential and employment opportunities for aspiring engineers. He also emphasized the importance of certificate programmes, innovative ideas, and their value in obtaining patents and attracting funding from research organizations like MSME, Kadigrama Udyog, and IEI. He claimed that unique concept-based models will be filed for patent and commercialization. He also mentioned that for the first time in AP & Telangana, MREC was presenting the models with the greatest numbers, which were 381. He thanked the chief guest and the guest of honour for coming to the occasion. Chief guest, Shri M. Trinath, Head Technology, KEKA Technologies & Guest of honour, Shri Arya Patnaik, Head of Campus Relations, KEKA Technologies interaction with the students. Students heard from Shri M. Trinath, Head of Technology, KEKA Technologies, about his best thoughts, the future of technical evaluation in the IT sector, the significance of other branches in enhancing the quality of the current IT market, and more. In her interactions with students, Shri Arya Patnaik, Head of Campus Relations, KEKA Technologies, shared some helpful advice for acquiring jobs at multinational corporations (MNCs) and conveyed her joy at attending VISHESH 2K22. Principal Dr A Ramaswami Reddy facilitated the Chief Guest & Guest of honor with shal and mementos. Coordinators Dr.B.Sudharshan Reddy, Shri N Sri Chandrahas & Dr K Haribabu were on the dias. Dr.B.Sudharshan Reddy presented a Vote of thanks and conveyed sincere thanks to the principal, guests and other coordinators. Ramaswami Reddy, visited all 381 models, spared his valuable time, and learned the significance of each one. He expressed his gratitude to all MREC and other college participants for brilliantly expressing their ideas for the future. He discussed with the students how AI, Python, and algorithms are used in cancer and other critical health situations as prediction models. In a similar vein, he counseled all qualified students to register their inventions as patents.
Launch of 5G services on 01-10-2022
As a part of MIC Driven of IIC 5.0 Quarter-1 activity, Malla Reddy Engineering Institution’s Innovation Council motivated all IIC members and students to Participation in Launch of 5G services by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. Bringing a new era in technology, launching 5G telecom services that seeks to provide seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency and highly reliable communications system.PM Modi inaugurated the first phase of 5G services in 13 cities across India in Pragati Maidan also inaugurated the sixth edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) with the theme of “New digital Universe”. It brought together leading thinkers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and government officials to discuss and showcase unique opportunities emerging from the rapid adoption and spread of digital technology. Modi also inspected various stalls of IMC 2022 exhibition. He tested ColCom new vehicle which can be remotely control in mines and war fields. “5G technology will provide seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency, and highly reliable communications. It will increase energy efficiency, spectrum efficiency and network efficiency,” Modi tweeted. Before the launch Modi also urged young people, the StartUp world, people from tech world to join this special programme. As 5G use cases have tremendous application s across sectors and hold the promise of innovations across the economic sectors, participating in this event virtually will certainly be beneficial and help in visualizing the technology shift, a greater picture to leverage technology for a better future, and scope for interdisciplinary innovation and cross-sector entrepreneurship

The Business Incubation Center of Malla Reddy Engineering College organized an “Inter/Intra Institutional Idea Competition and Reward Best Ideas” in association with Institution’s Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Development Cell of MREC under IIC 5.0 Calendar Quarter-1 Activity on 14-10-2022. Workshop Objective: To bring innovations in students thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Outcome of the program: After successful participation in this workshop all participants should be able to understand how to solve the problem in different ways. Dr. SK. Jakeer Hussain Coordinator Business Incubation Centre, Dr, T. Srinivas Reddy, Institution’s Innovation Council Convener, and Dr.P.Saritha Coordinator Entrepreneurship Development CELL and Innovation Ambassadors of Malla Reddy Engineering College have organized competition. They Enlighted workshop objective and outcomes. Total 150 students with 78 teams and 24 faculty members have actively participated in this event and Dr.A. Ramaswami Reddy, Principal rewarded idea winners with a merit certificate and cash prizes.

One day workshop on "Entrepreneurship and Innovation" as a career Opportunity (under IIC S.0 Quarter - 1 Calendar Activity) has organized by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with Institutions Innovation Council (Ministry of Education Initiative), MREC HUB, EDC of Malla Reddy Engineering College on 24 November 2022. at 2 pm to 4 pm and total 109 participants including 70 students are attended the workshop from various engineering colleges in India. The faculty and student participants from outside of organizing institutions are 87. The resource person of the program was Dr. V. Agalya, Professor and Associate Head R&D, New Horizon College of Engineering, Bengaluru. The workshop has organized by Dr. P. Marimuthu, Professor and IIC Coordinator and Dr.P. Sarala, Associate Professor and EDC coordinator of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The speaker covered variousimportant points about I. How do we define innovation and why the start-ups are fail? Different Phases of Startups 3 The importance of the Patent, Copy Right and its importance. 4. Entrepreneurship and its characteristics. 5. The various Entrepreneurial process and types of Entrepreneurs. Learning Outcomes: 1. Students got well versed with the concept of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. 2 The session helped young entrepreneurs to overcome from the failures in the startups. 3.The various stages involved in the startup.
"Entrepreneurship Awareness programe on 29" November 2022
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and MREC-HUB, in association with MSME DFO, Hyderabad has organized one day "Entrepreneurship Awareness programme on 29" November 2022 from 09:30AM to 05:30PM in the Mini Auditorium of Malla Reddy Engineering College. The guest of honor for the program was Mr. K.V Rao, 1.E.D.S, Assistant Director, MSMEDFO, Hyderabad. The inaugural function was started with the auspicious lightning of the lamp followed by prayer song. Dr. S.Udaya Bhaskar, Dean-Academics, MREC presided about the college and programme. The presidential address was given by Mr M Srinivasa Rao, Indian Statistical Sarvice (ISS), MSME-DFO. The Key note speaker for the Program was Dr. Rohan Ande, Community Manager, Osmania Technology Business Incubator (OTBI), Osmania University, Hyderabad and Dr T R Srinivas, Professor & HOD, Department of CSE, AARM Engineering college.The first session was by Dr. Rohan Ande, who started with an introduction about importance of Entrepreneurship. During this session. the speaker interacted with the students about ideas, innovation and entrepreneurship. He enthusiastically motivated the students to become employers rather than employees. It was followed by a small presentation by students whose idea was selected for funding under MSME champion scheme.In the afternoon session., the speaker Dr T R Srinivas talked about the global market potential of entrepreneurship and signified Entrepreneurship as a way of thinking. and an approach that identifies new opportunities and solves problems. Giving the global statistics, he put much emphasis on the need for entrepreneurship awareness, for a well balanced country's development. The Second Session was by Mr Nishanth Raj Palle. Director, Nestaer Pvt Ltd., and a successful entrepreneur who discussed about students becoming entrepreneur as an assiduous task and it is certainly not meant for the faint of heart. He encouraged students that with strong will power, the determination. skills and time, comes the ability to become a successful entrepreneur. The speakers later had an interaction with the students; almost 150 students participated in the programme. They motivated the students to become entrepreneurs. the need for it, how to proceed and the challenges during that phase. They also explained about the schemes available in MSME to support the best ideas from students

The Department has invited the resource person Mr. Yashwant Ramana, Founder & CEO, E-Sunrise Auto Industry Pvt. Ltd. T-HUB, IIIT-H Campus, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. During the program the points discussed are: ? The resource person shared his whole journey like how he started thinking of Innovating a new service into the market, and shared all the ups and downs he faced after launching the product in the market. ? The Department of ECE has organized a one day workshop on “ENTREPRENEURSHIP OPPOTUNITIES IN THE FIELD OF DEEP LEARNING” in association with PANTECH E LEARNING on 05-11-2022 through online mode from 2PM to 4PM under IIC 5.0 Self Driven Quarter-1 activity. The Department has invited the resource person Mr. Praveen Kumar, Project Engineer, AI & Deep Learning Department. During the program the points discussed are: Opportunities for entrepreneurship in Deep learning Introduction to Artificial Intelligence. Machine learning with python. Deep learning with few applications. Neural Networks. Deep learning in business Around 150 students have attended and interacted with the resource person. Acknowledging the occasion of National Innovation Day 15th October to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The Institution’s Innovation Council of MREC organized a National Innovation Day celebration on 15-10-2022. Objective: To bring innovations in students thinking. 1. Celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. 2. Total 190 student teams presented their innovative ideas and explained how their idea can useful to society. 3. All Innovation Ambassadors of Malla Reddy Engineering College guided students. Outcome of the program: Evaluation team evaluated best 3 ideas from each department and rewarded with cash prizes and certificates to all participants

Malla Reddy Engineering College organized a one day Field Visit to Technology Hub (T-HUB) 2.0 under IIC 5.0 Calendar Quarter-1 activity. T-Hub (Technology Hub) is an innovation hub and ecosystem enabler. Based out of Hyderabad, India, T-Hub leads India’s pioneering innovation ecosystem. With a mission of enabling and empowering an ecosystem hungry for innovation, T-Hub is creating impact for start-ups, corporations and other innovation ecosystem stakeholders. Incorporated in 2015, it has provided over 1800+ national and international start-ups with access to better technology, talent, mentors, customers, corporates, investors and government agencies. It has elevated innovation for leading national and global corporations, transforming their business models for better. Working in collaboration with innovation partners and enablers in Telangana, India and world, T-Hub is building a future-ready innovation ecosystem. One Day Workshop on Nanotechnology Based Potential Research Developments in Renewable Energy Applications
Nanotechnology is the study, design, creation, synthesis manipulation, and application of functional materials, devices, and systems through control of matter at the scale of 1-100 nm as well as the exploitation of novel phenomena and properties of matter which are known to arise at that scale including physical, chemical, electrical, mechanical, optical and magnetic properties. It is employed to improve the efficiency of energy generation, particularly in form of photovoltaic (PV) cells or to develop new methods to generate energy. It is also utilized for improved wind and geothermal power generation, energy storage, lighting and hydrogen fuel cells among others renewable energy applications.

Innovative Research in Electrical Engineering using Machine Learning
Machine Learning is playing a vital role in the modern industrial systems. With the development of ICT, an information layer is now added to the conventional electricity transmission and distribution network for data collection, storage and analysis. To make a system smarter, the emerging multi-scale data from smart meters, weather, and electricity markets, offers tremendous opportunities as well as challenges for the industry to dynamically learn and adaptively control a modern power system. The programme will include expert lectures on machine learning for Electrical Engineering application. Basic concepts and advanced applications of different machine learning algorithms in Electrical Engineering application are addressed as the main part of this Workshop.
