Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and MREC-HUB, in association with MSME DFO, Hyderabad has organized one day “Entrepreneurship Awareness programme on 06th October 2023 from 09:30AM to 05:30PM in the Mini Auditorium of Malla Reddy Engineering College under IIC 6.0 calendar, Quarter 1 Self Driven activity. The guest of honor for the program was Mr.Vijay Kiran Agatsya, Co-Founder & CEO, NextGen Learning & Consulting Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad. The inaugural function was started with the auspicious lightning of the lamp followed by prayer song. Dr S Udaya Bhaskar, Dean-Academics, MREC presided about the college and programme. The presidential address was given by Shri. K C Choudhury, I.E.D.S., Assistant Director (Grade 1) MSME-DFO, Hyderabad.

Successful Journey of a women Entrepreneur on World Entrepreneur Day 28-08-2023

Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Malla Reddy Engineering College organized an invited talk on “Successful Journey of a women Entrepreneur” in Business Incubation Centre, MREC, Hyderabad, Telangana-500100 in association with Business Incubation Centre and Institution’s Innovation Council Entrepreneurship Development Cell of MREC. The resource person Ms Sandhya Volety, Propreitor - Wonders-Interoir & Exterior has shared her experiences and challenges faced during her start-up journey. She also enlightened the students about how to register a company, the legal documents required for getting finance from a bank, the strategy to approach investors and making of pitch-deck presentation. After the invited talk, the students interacted with the resource person and got clarifications for their queries. Almost 100 students along with Departmental EDC coordinators, MIC coordinators and Innovation Ambassadors participated in this programme.

Workshop on "Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career Opportunity

The event was organized by Department of MBA in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC. The resource person for the event was Mr.Tiger Dasu Padmanabha Rao, Career and Leadership Trainer, Hyderabad. The resource person emphasized on many factors significant to a student's career, some of which are as follows: 1. Career Awareness: Introduce students to the potential of entrepreneurship and innovation as career paths, showcasing opportunities beyond traditional employment. 2. Skill Enhancement: Equip students with foundational skills essential for entrepreneurship, such as problem-solving, creativity, adaptability, and effective communication. 3. Educational Guidance: Provide insights into educational paths or additional courses that can complement their aspirations in entrepreneurship and innovation. 4. Mentorship Opportunities: Introduce avenues for mentorship programs or connections with experienced professionals in the field to guide and inspire them. 5. Networking Skills: Offer strategies and platforms for networking within the entrepreneurial community, emphasizing its importance in career development. 6. Resource Awareness: Inform students about resources available within educational institution or externally that support entrepreneurial initiatives, such as incubators, funding sources, and workshops.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in association with MREC-HUB conducted a one day workshop on “World Environment Day” under IIC 4.0 Quarter 4-World Environment Day Celebration Activity on 06th June 2022 from 09:30am to 4:00 pm in the Mini Auditorium. The programme started with an inaugural session at 9:30am, a welcome address by Principal, MREC and went on with an Invited talk on “Save Soil-Save Planet” in the morning session. The Speaker of the event Mr. Deva, Hatha Yoga Teacher, Isha Foundation, emphasized on the theme for this year celebration “Only one Earth”, making everyone conscious about saving the Planet. The ‘Save Soil Movement’ to protect Earth by Isha Foundation is a effort to address the degeneration of soil and increase awareness about deteriorating soil health and bring about a conscious response to improve it. A total of 350 students participated in the programme.

Five Day FDP on “Enhancing Research Eco-System in the Campus towards Innovation & Entrepreneurship”

Five day online FDP on “Enhancing Research Eco-System in the Campus towards Innovation & Entrepreneurship” on 22-08-2022 to 26-08-2022 in association with Institution’s Innovation Council, Incubation Centre and Entrepreneurship Development Cell under IIC 4.0 Quarter 4 activity at MREC, campus, Kompally, Hyderabad. FDP was inaugurated on 22.08.2022 at 10.00 AM. Dr. S. Uday Bhaskar, Professor and Dean R&D welcomed the Guest and introduced about Guest. Principal Dr. A. Ramaswami Reddy discussed about MREC and briefed about the importance of Five Days FDP.Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. S. Udaya Bhaskar, Dean R&D. In his vote of thanks he congratulated all the five days chief Guests, Principal, Hods, deans, coordinators, faculty and all the participants for successfully conducting the FDP program. In this FDP total 120 Faculty members were participated and FDP is end with national anthem at 4 PM, 26.08.2022 in the afternoon session.

Entrepreneurship Development cell in collaboration with Industry Innovation Council and Department of ECE has conducted a workshop on My story Motivational Session by Successful Innovators on 15th November 2022 at ECE seminar hall. The resource person was Mr. Yashwanth founder of E-Sunrise, manufacture of Green autos in transportation. the speaker emphasized on the use of sustainable resources in transportation. He also explained the students about his journey and the challenges which he came across during his entrepreneurial career.

INVITED TALK ON “HINDRANCES FACED BY ENTREPRENEURS”

Entrepreneurs have become one of the most dynamic forces in the economy making them very important from a macro-economic perspective, yet there are some common issues of how to start a business, how to finance the business, how to run the business that within this community we can share and learn from each other. However, the super competitive business world brings many challenges to entrepreneurs. Hence, in this context, on the occasion of World Entrepreneurs Day Celebrations (21st - 24th August 2021) under MIC Driven Activity for Quarter 4, Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Malla Reddy Engineering College (MREC-A) has organized an invited talk on “Hindrances faced by Entrepreneurs” on 24th Aug 2021 in online mode through Zoom link. The event started with a welcome address by Dr.P.Saritha, Co-ordinator, EDC, Associate Professor/Civil Engineering. MREC distinguished alumni Er.Eadala Rakesh Reddy, Managing Director, EE Engineering Consultancy Services, was the eminent speaker of the session. He stressed on the challenges faced by the young entrepreneurs, a common factor for all entrepreneurs is the challenge of starting a business, be it through inventing something, looking for a new idea within a business, finding the right opportunity to break into a business or buying into a franchise. And these entire take planning – organizing all the aspects so that the entrepreneur can reach his or her goals. More than 250 students participated in this online session who gave a positive feedback asking to conduct more such programs towards startup development

Scope of Entrepreneurship and Employment in Defence Sector and it’s PSU’s

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) organized an invited talk on “Scope of Entrepreneurship and Employment in Defence Sector and it’s PSU’s "on 28th December 2021 from 02:15pm to 3:30 pm in the Major Auditorium. The speaker for the session is Mr. Ashok K Panda, CCO, FEME, Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering. The speaker started with an introduction about the Defence Industry of India which is strategically important sector in India. He talked about the Indian army and the need to become entrepreneurs after their early retirement. He discussed about Defence India Startup Challenge launched by Ministry in partnership with Atal Innovation Mission, aimed at supporting Startups/MSMEs/Innovators to create prototypes and/or commercialize products/solutions in the area of National Defence and Security. Later he motivated the students to become entrepreneurs, the need for it, how to proceed and the challenges during that phase.

"SAMBHAV" e-National Level Awareness Programme on Entrepreneurship (NLAP)

Ministry of MSME has been launched the e-National Level Awareness Program on 27-Oct-2021 by the name of ‘SAMBHAV’. ‘SAMBHAV’ is a mass awareness program for promoting entrepreneurship in youth and students. A webinar on SAMBHAV, e-National Level Awareness Programme on Entrepreneurship was organised by MSME Development Institute, Hyderabad in association with Malla Reddy Engineering College, Maisammaguda, Hyderabad on 15thNovember 2021 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Total 27 Faculty members, 531 students registered, out of that 172 participated virtually. 386 participated in offline at MREC Mini Auditorium, Mechanical Seminar Hall and Centre of Excellence Mini Theatre. Dr. A. Ramaswami Reddy, Director, MREC welcomed the officials of MSME-DI and thanked them for conducting SAMBHAV,e-National Level Awareness Programme on Entrepreneurship in association with Malla Reddy Engineering College. He invited the officials of MSME-DI to visit MREC, to inspect the facilities of MREC-Hub. He also informed that 23 student groups were identified from 77 participating groups for Idea & Innovation Contest conducted on 9th September 2021 to on behalf of MREC-Hub(Incubation centre). Sri D. Chandra Sekhar, Director has given opening remarks and explained the importance of SAMBHAV, e-National Level Awareness Programme on Entrepreneurship which is being conducted all over India. In Telangana, 10 colleges have been identified out of which MREC is one. He advised the students to participate seriously and also take up entrepreneurship as profession. He extended all support to the authorities of students of MREC. In this webinar the Resource persons motivated the participants to become Young Entrepreneurs. They explained about MSME Schemes, MSME Sector at a Glance, Definition/Classification of MSME, MSME Registration (UDYAM), Champions–MSME grievance portal, Schemes for Start-ups, Building awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), MSME SAMBANDH, and Core functions of EDC. Motivated the students through videos, and success stories.Ms. SowjanyaSaraswathi, Founder of SowjanyaJute Creation, Hyderabad explained her successful story as an Entrepreneur. Our students interacted with her and MSME officials. MSME officials cleared all the doubts raised by the MREC students and faculty members. Sri K.C.Choudhury, Asst. Director Gr.1 advised the students to contact him to clear any doubts and further guidance. Dr.M.S.VenkataRamayya, Dean IIIC, MREC proposed to vote of thanks.

WORKSHOP ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP & INNOVATION AS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Entrepreneurs are frequently considered as national assets to be cultivated, motivated, and remunerated. Great Entrepreneurs have the ability to change the way we live and work, on local and national bases. If successful, their innovations improve standards of living, and in addition to creating wealth with entrepreneurial ventures, they also create jobs and contribute to a growing economy. A one day workshop is conducted in Mechanical Seminar Hall by Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Malla Reddy Engineering College under MIC Driven Activity for Quarter 1 on 12th November 2021 at 11:00AM. The resource person Mr.Venkata Jaya Praveen Potnuru, Founder, GP Wealth Solutions, Hyderabad explained on how to become an entrepreneur, how to register a company and the challenges that need to be addressed during this process. Later on he explained his successful story of becoming an entrepreneur and also motivated students about ideas and innovations, and how to convert those ideas in to a startup.

DEBATE ON “MINDSET OF ENTREPRENEURS BEFORE & AFTER CORONA”

In the face of the global COVID-19 pandemic, entrepreneurs have to face a new reality: that it is not only a huge sanitary and health crisis affecting millions, or even billions, of people across the world. This is also provoking an unprecedented downturn in the global economy. The numbers are shattering which reveals the breakability of our economies and their fundamentals. There are different scenarios and realities which are not the same and vary depending on where we are running our business today. The government, public health and economic responses are hugely different for an entrepreneur based in USA, Asia or in Europe. The guest of honor for the program was Mr. K.V Rao, I.E.D.S, Assistant Director, NMSE-DI, Hyderabad. The Key note speaker for the Program was Mr. Shreeram Iyer, Vice-President, T-Hub, IIIT, Hyderabad. The speaker started the session with an introduction about importance of Entrepreneurship. The speaker went on to say that Entrepreneurship as a way of thinking, and an approach that identifies new opportunities and solves problems. Giving the global statistics, he put much emphasis on the need for entrepreneurship awareness, for a well balanced country’s development. The other two speakers were successful entrepreneurs who briefed their stories in the journey of Entrepreneurship. The first speaker was Ms B. Manju, Proprietorist, Sthree Raksha, Hyderabad and other speaker of the day was Mr. Rama Krishna Katta, Director-Production & Operations, GLO LED Private Limited, Hyderabad. Both of them discussed about becoming entrepreneur as an assiduous task and it is certainly not meant for the faint of heart. They encouraged students that with strong will power, the determination, skills and time, comes the ability to become a successful entrepreneur. The speakers later had an interaction with the students; almost 100 students participated in the programme. They motivated the students to become entrepreneurs, the need for it, how to proceed and the challenges during that phase. “Plastic Waste Management-Issues, Challenges & Opportunities for SMEs”

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in association with MREC-HUB celebrated “National Pollution Control Day” under MIC Celebration Day Activity-2022. In this regard, an online session titled “Plastic Waste Management-Issues, Challenges & Opportunities for SMEs” was organized on 18th February 2022 from 02:00pm to 3:00 pm in the Mini Auditorium. The Speaker for the session was Mr. J. Koteswara Rao, Associate Faculty Member, School of Enterprise Development, NI-MSME, Hyderabad. The speaker started the session with an introduction about the statistics of Plastic waste generation in India and other countries. The speaker emphasized more on plastic waste management- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. He also discussed about many small and medium industries sprouting up with the ideas of recycling the plastic waste, alternatives to be used replacing plastic and many more. The speaker later had an interaction with the students; almost 100 students participated in the Programme. He motivated the students to become entrepreneurs, the need for it, how to proceed and the challenges during that phase. He also explained about the schemes available in MSME to support the best ideas from students

ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON “WORLD EARTH DAY”

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in association with MREC-HUB conducted a one day workshop on “World Earth Day” under IIC 4.0 Quarter 3-World Earth Day Celebration Activity on 22nd April 2022 from 09:30am to 4:00 pm in the Mini Auditorium. The programme started with an inaugural session at 9:30am and went on with three presentations in the morning session and “Learning the art of Recycling (Best out of waste) competition in the afternoon session. The morning session started with a welcome address by Principal, MREC followed with an inaugural speech about World Earth Day by the Chief Guest Mr. Ch. Venkateswara Rao, Deputy Director General, Head, Geological Survey of India Training Institute, Hyderabad. He emphasized the theme of the year “Invest on planet” and motivated the students to join together to raise awareness about environmental protection. The Keynote Speaker of the day Dr. P R Sushama, Assistant Professor & HOD, Department of Botany, University College for Women, Koti, Hyderabad has presented the importance of developing green belt in protecting the planet. The next speaker Dr. Mehtab Yasmeen, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, University College for Women, Koti, Hyderabad, presented the ugly side of the planet caused by Plastics and stressed on zero pollution studies. She has motivated the students on the urge of using alternatives for plastics. In the afternoon session, a competition on “Learning the art of Recycling (Best out of waste)” was held for which almost 80 students participated in the competition. The students have made many items like paper bags, paper flower vases, Compost Pit, Bird feeder, Plastic roads, recycled water dispenser etc. from different types of waste material. The session ended with prize & certificate distribution, and a pledge of not using plastic.

Seminar on Achieving Success by Overcoming Stress and Distractions

The seminar titled ?Achieving Success by Overcoming Stress and Distractions? was held in the Major Auditorium of the college on 22/03/2021 from 1:40 pm to 4: 10 pm for II and III B. Tech students. The program started with the host Aashritha of III ECE inviting the speaker, Mr. Gampa Nageshwer Rao, Director, Prof. A. Ramaswami Reddy, Dean of Industry Institute Interaction Cell, Prof. S. Venkata Ramaiah and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. P. Sreehari. Mr. Gampa Nageshwer Rao, the speaker for the event is a renowned motivational speaker, psychologist and soft skills trainer. The speaker shared several nuggets of wisdom which would enable students to achieve academic and professional success by overcoming factors such as negativity, hesitation, distractions, stress and anxiety. The speaker urged the students to develop sane habits such as proper sleep, waking up early, respecting elders, parents and teachers. He gave them tips which are useful for achieving focus and overcoming distractions related to gadgets. He also told them to be sincere and dedicated in their studies, making the positive use of technology, time and teachers. The Director also spoke on the occasion and advised the students to follow the techniques provided by the speaker to steer clear of the distractions and the stress. He also felicitated the guest with a shawl and memento and expressed appreciation for conducting the seminar in an interactive and entertaining way. A few students spoke right after the speaker finished his seminar and gave their instant feedback. They expressed their happiness for conducting such a useful program. The program ended with the Dean, Student Affairs thanking the guest for a memorable presentation. He also thanked the Director and also the Dean of Industry Institute Interaction Cell. He also conveyed his thanks to other faculty members who took active part in making the seminar a success

Owners often know what funds are needed day to day but are unclear as to how much revenue is being generated, and the disconnect can be disastrous. • Inexperience managing a business—or an unwillingness to delegate—can negatively impact small businesses, as can a poorly visualized business plan, which can lead to ongoing problems once the firm is operational. • Poorly planned or executed marketing campaigns or a lack of adequate marketing and publicity, are among the other issues that drag down small businesses. The session started with product vision, everyone must know three important questions:- 1. Who will use it? 2. What problems does the product solve? 3. How is the success of a product measured? Later you have to see product development, positioning, and marketing strategy on thorough market research. There are two main types you need – market research and competitive research. The market research stage will reveal how viable your idea is considering the current business environment, customer purchasing habits in the industry, and the pool of competitors. A One day Awareness Program was conducted on ?Business Opportunities in Biotechnology? on 24-01-2020 in the Auditorium of Malla Reddy Engineering College under ?Entrepreneurship Development Cell?. The session was all about Biotechnology and the Business Opportunities in it. Biotechnology is technology that utilizes biological systems, living organisms or parts of this to develop or create different products. Brewing and baking bread are examples of processes that fall within the concept of biotechnology (use of yeast (= living organism) to produce the desired product)etc. The Indian biotechnology industry is one of the fastest-growing knowledge-based sectors in India and is expected to play a key role in shaping India‘s rapidly developing economy.
